Forfeit The Game: A Linkin Park Fansite
Officially launched on August 23rd 2003, Forfeit the Game: A Linkin Park Fansite has become well known as one of the most unique, diverse and content-driven Linkin Park websites on the internet. Now in its fourth year Forfeit the Game is bigger than it has ever been before with more news, images, multimedia and individual pages of Linkin Park content to quench the thirst and fill the appetite of any Linkin Park fan new or old looking for the newest information on the band.
The History of FTG: Linkin Park Fansite
Forfeit The Game: A Linkin Park fansite was the website that started it all; the first website in the network, and still the biggest to date. The website first opened on the 23rd of August 2003, and was originally a flash driven website. The website originated because of my growing love for the band and their music, and because of my hunger for more information on them. When not being able to find the sort of information that I desired on the retaining fan websites already available, I decided to start a website myself and bring users the content that I hungered myself.
The website quickly got off of it's feet when after just 7 days of being active, exclusives were revealed - this started to get the website a strong following of dedicated fans and a buzz started to begin within the Linkin Park circle. After a short while the website was moved out of flash into HTML, however a few months later in June of 2004 the website had severe downtime of almost a month - this proved to be fatal, and the website took a big blow both on credibility and reliability standards. In August of 2004 a full resurrection of the website began with version 5 - A new server, double the content and more promotion helped the website to garner back the respect it once observed
Since version 5 the website has been running smoothly and continues to garner respect and obtain new fans. Version 6 followed in November of 2004 and version 7 in February of 2005 - both boasting news material. On January 1st 2006 version 8 of the website was unleashed, with the most unique and interesting design to date, as well as new features, with more on the way. The website is currently at it's peak with thousands of dedicated fans visiting the website every single day.
The Future for FTG: Linkin Park Fansite
In 2007 and 2008 Forfeit the Game will be looking to cement its position as one of the biggest Linkin Park websites on the internet; driven by user content and discussions the website will be able to function independently and truely become a website for the users, pushed along by the users themselves.
